Sedotan Reusable: Upaya Mengurangi Sampah Plastik

Satu kantong isi 50 buah, harganya cuma C$5 (eq Rp 50.000). Warna-warni, lumayan bisa bikin anak jadi ikut semangat minum smoothies.

Tapi ternyata mengajari anak suka smoothies gak cukup: saya juga ingin mengajari dia untuk gak banyak buang sampah (dia suka banget buang sampah ke tempat sampah). Dari situlah saya terinspirasi beli sedotan kaca. Saya beli di Amazon.ca seharga sekitar C$20 (eq Rp 200 ribu) dapat 5 buah sedotan kaca plus sikat pembersihnya. Saya sodorin deh smoothies pakai sedotan kaca (udah dicuci dulu pastinya) ke anak kecil, dan tetap doyan.

Kesimpulan: warna sedotan gak berpengaruh terhadap minat anak minum smoothies. Tapi mengganti sedotan plastik ke sedotan kaca ngaruh banget buat kami sekeluarga. Saya tidak lagi “memproduksi” sampah sedotan. Habis pakai, tinggal cuci pakat sikat pembersih, gak sampai semenit, voila! siap dipakai lagi.

So far saya menikmati memakai sedotan kaca reusable and I think you should try it, too!

Warm Welcome from Cold Corner!

Finally I’m launching my brand new blog!

As the end of 2018 is approaching, I want to look back and reflect to everything that has been going on throughout the year. It’s been a great year for me. I get to understand myself better, I feel comfortable with my own skin better than ever, and this year I find a way to gain control over myself.

But things wasn’t easy at all at first. Living away from my true home for almost two years, with so many things going on as I juggle between work-life balance, I began to feel the urge to rediscover myself. I have been so consume by routines, works, keeping my toddler alive and healthy, house responsibility, really took away me from myself. I was so consumed by everything outside of me.

So two months ago, I took leave (without travelling as many usually guess) trying to seek inspirations. I finally realized that I have plenty of room to stretch my productivity as a person. So I want to be more productive, not just doing a salary- woman + family woman stuff. And the time is just right. My toddler is growing more independent, and I know how navigate with work and Canadian life, so I think I can strech my productivity.

Creating this blog wasn’t an overnight decision. I have been wanting to set up my own personal website since ages, but never really have the drive to begin. Now that I am so inspired to learn myself better, thanks to the amazing 2018, I want to start writing about the little (or big) things that make me feel so fulfilled.

In this personal blog, I will share everything I feel like worth-sharing, mostly about my experience as a daughter, wife, mom, career woman, expat (not really, actually), through my own lens. I will talk a lot about things I like and I feel like I am good at, from personal finance, lifehacks, reviews, and ultimately – my obsessions to recurring patterns and cycles of everyday life.

I’m also starting a journey to #hidupminimalis in an effort to reduce garbage, avoid unnecessary purchase of goods, and maximize the utility of my belongings. It’s a way of controlling spending, avoid cluttering, and I believe it’s also good for the environtment. You will see why it’s so important.

You will find some inconsistencies in my thoughts and actions, because I believe incosistency is part of a learning curve, and I want to keep learning.

I hope my personal blog will record my personal journey on self-discovery as well as perfecting the way I handle my daily life.

I will mostly write in Bahasa Indonesia.

Blooper:

I just bought myself a nice expensive mirrorless camera lens, so I’d better use it for something productive such as doing a blog project to feature my takes!
